Thaipusam Undiyal Counting Has Officially Concluded at Komtar

The annual undiyal counting for this year’s Thaipusam offerings  collected at the Thanneermalai Shree Balathandayuthapani Devasthanam Temple and during the Golden Chariot procession has officially concluded at Komtar earlier today.
 
To uphold full transparency, the entire counting process was livestreamed on Facebook, with 39 volunteers including government officers and members of the public participating under the close supervision of the Commissioners of the Penang Hindu Endowments Board.
 
This year’s collections, as announced by YB Kumaresan Aramugam, are as follows:
 
🛕 Temple
💰 RM120,269
🪙 10.65g of gold
Allocated for: Temple upkeep, upgraded and religiously festivals
 
🛕 Golden Chariot Procession
💰 RM132,665
🪙 26.72g of gold
Allocated for: Educational and welfare assistance
 
These offerings reflect the deep devotion of the community and will continue supporting religious, cultural, and community initiatives under the Penang Hindu Endowments Board.

The Penang Hindu Endowment Board (LWHNPP) said the three-day celebration was conducted peacefully and in a well-coordinated manner, with close cooperation among devotees, government agencies, enforcement authorities, volunteers and temple management committees.

Overall, the 2026 Thaipusam celebration at the Penang state level proceeded in an orderly, smooth, and safe manner as planned.
 
“The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Penang Contingent deployed 1,280 personnel to ensure the safety of all devotees, visitors, and road users throughout the celebration,” he said when contacted by Bernama yesterday.

A Visit to MBPP Enforcement Officer Muhammad Amirul Ashraf

A delegation led by YB Ramkarpal Singh, YB RSN Rayer, Jelutong, YB Senator Dr. Lingeshwaran R Arunasalam, and MBPP Mayor Dato’ Ir. Rajendran P. Anthony visited MBPP enforcement officer Muhammad Amirul Ashraf, who is recovering from injuries sustained in the gas-balloon fire incident at Lebuh Union on 1 February 2026.
 
During the visit, financial assistance was presented by YB Senator Dr. Lingeshwaran on behalf of the Penang Hindu Endowments Board, while YB Ramkarpal also extended a personal contribution to help ease the burden on the officer and his family.
