Top Scorer SPM 2023 Award Ceremony (Mainland)

The Penang Hindu Endowments Board proudly hosted the “Top Scorer SPM 2023” award ceremony for mainland Indian students! This program celebrates those who achieved 7As and above in the 2023 Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) exam.
 
Congratulations to Sharvin a/l Mogan from SMK Tinggi Bukit Mertajam, the top scorer with 9A+! He was awarded RM500 token of appreciation and a laptop for his outstanding achievement.
 
Over 100 top scorers from 23 schools received a token of appreciation worth RM 500 each and a mock cheque, presented by Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow. The event was also graced by Timbalan Menteri Kewangan YB Puan Lim Hui Ying, Adun Kawasan YB H’ng Mooin Lye, EXCO member YB Lim Siew Kim, YB RSN Rayer, Jelutong, YB Dr Lingesh RA, PHEB Commissioners and other esteemed guests.
 
We are incredibly proud of these students and their hard work!

ANNOUNCEMENT

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF GAS CREMATION SERVICES ONLY

Penang Hindu Endowments Board would like to inform that the Gas Cremation Services at Batu Lanchang Hindu Cemetery, Penang will be temporarily closed from 13 May 2025 until 31 May 2025 due to major repair works and maintenance. Gas Cremation Services will resume on 01 June 2025.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and kindly advise families and casket operators to make alternative arrangements during this period.

Please note that Wood Cremation and Burial Services will continue to operate as usual.

Georgetown, Penang — [06 October 2024] — The Penang Hindu Endowments Board (PHEB) is pleased to announce the appointment of new chairmen for various temples for the 2024-2025 term. This initiative underscores the board’s commitment to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of our temples.

In addition to the appointments, PHEB is reaffirming its Integrity Pledge, emphasizing transparency and accountability in all operations. “We are excited to welcome the newly appointed chairmen, as their vision and dedication will be instrumental in fostering growth and unity within our temple committees,” stated YB RSN Rayer, chairman of PHEB.

It’s been a year since our new commissioners took over, and we’ve been working tirelessly to serve the Hindu community in Penang. Penang Hindu Endowments Board is proud to present our financial aid contributions and allocations for various initiatives for the Hindu Community in Penang.

✨ Temple Festival Aid: RM1,056,813.52
Support for organizing and conducting temple festivals, ensuring cultural and religious practices are maintained and celebrated within the community.

🎓 Education Aid: RM350,854.00
Providing financial support to students in need, covering tuition fees, books, and other educational materials to promote equal learning opportunities.

📝 SPM Aid: RM79,500.00
Financial assistance to students preparing for their SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) exams, helping them access resources and tutoring services.

🎓 STPM Aid: RM22,000.00
Supporting students taking their STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia) exams with essential study materials and financial aid for better preparation.

💝 Welfare Aid: RM66,378.00
Assistance to vulnerable individuals and families in the community, including support for daily necessities, housing, and healthcare.

🩺 Dialysis Aid: RM100,000.00
Financial aid provided to patients requiring dialysis treatment, ensuring they receive necessary medical care without the burden of high costs.

🏛️ Temple Technical Expenses Aid: RM281,768.65
Funds allocated for the maintenance, repair, and technical upgrades of temples, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for worship.

📚 Other Aids: RM16,378.00
Miscellaneous support covering various community needs, including emergency aid, special projects, and one-time assistance for unique circumstances.
